Al Numero 8
– Rooms –
To give a well-defined identity to every room we have taken suggestions from Vasco Pratolini’s novel “Girls of San Frediano.” Each room tells us about one of the protagonists (Tosca, Gina, Mafalda, Silvana, and Bice.) and the main character (Bob), which is our common area, that for love and hate united the women in a kind of feminine revolution. A story, set right in the streets of the San Frediano district, with intelligence and poetry will tell you about a part of our Florence.
“Al Numero 8” also asked young emerging artists to tell their story, and to influence our historical residence, including the rooms, to try their hand at a new model of artistic fruition in Florence .
A new concept of relationships, encounterance and “hospitality” (as in being a guest) with the space and the environment, both inside the artist’s visions and in relation to the house and to the people who will visit it.
Because “Al Numero 8” is a point of meeting and history, that have found a crossroads of experiences at Borgo San Frediano, in the heart of Florence.
– Tosca Room –
“Is the girl with the heart on the lips”
The protagonist of the San Frediano girls and our historical residence.
The heroine with more traditional values and the bearer of the revolution.
– Gina Room –
“You are my rose bud” says Bob, “the real one”
Of all the girls of San Frediano she is the most faithful during Bob’s playboy reign. She is the most attached to traditional values of family, and she eventually arranges a marriage with another just to have a definitive answer from the Don Juan of San Frediano.
– Mafalda Room –
Of all the protagonists Mafalda is the most surprising. She is attracted to Bob despite her aggressive and sarcastic personality but of all the girls she is the one who Bob is turned off by the most.
– Bice Room –
“Candid and shrewd”
The youngest of the protagonists.
The last of Bob’s prey who he will not have time to win over. Certainly the most candid and contemporary women’s in the story.
– Silvana Room –
Bob calls Silvana “Fairy hands”.
Of the five women she is the most modern and liberated and she greets us at our most modern and chicest part of the residence.
